hmmmm the end of the hols. haha might as well, i'm getting bored at home. sorry for the long hiatus, i've been unable to use the internet on my desktop. i think what happened is that my com got infected with a virus, which restarts the com the moment its connected to the net. i tried to solve the problem, by running 5 various anti-virus/spyware/adware scans, uncovering 100 odd anomalies in the process, but not the most important one, so there's that. blogging from my dad's laptop.

in summary the highlights of my hols are:
wk1: singapore vs uzbekistan
wk2: ortega cup, staying at home alone
wk3: ss doc filming, com spoil, trip to kl
wk4: lots of WE2008, football competition @ the cage, book club

kinda boring, but i'm hopeful the week's break we get from apcg would be more meaningful. track nats finals, possibly dinner, chalet and sentosa after that, hmmmm, sounds good. possible date.
oh on my trip to kl, i went to a bah ku teh restaurant to dine. i was walking around when some china tour guide mistook me for a waiter at the restaurant. he told me “我有十个人要坐这里” to which i replied “你要坐哪里关我什么事”. he looked kinda shocked, somewhat affronted by my rudeness but honestly i was rather offended. i mean like, come on, i was wearing the hullett t-shirt, orange boardshorts, and flip-flops, in what way do i look like a waiter?

later we went to the times square theme park to play, which i didn't enjoy very much, but anyway, i went to the toilet, opened a cubicle door, and saw a small girl sitting on the bowl, flashing her everything for all to see. i went oops, and went to the next cubicle, but not before i checked there were urinals in the toilet. shortly after i overheard, not eavesdrop, the little girl asking her father why he kept bringing her to the gents when she's "not a boy but a girl". she felt embarassed and threatened her father with "later i bring you to the girl toilet then you know". she said all this in the very righteous and innocent manner, when i heard her speak i laughed. children are damn cute and funny.

yesterday i went to the cage to participate in a football tournament organised by kristian's church. he called me only the day before at 10pm, and tempted me with the prizes. unfortunately our team, which included thom, wasn't dat bad but wasn't good enough, finishing third. i was late for the first game but when i ran on i just chased the ball like a dog. i swear i nearly collapsed at the end of the first match, so i subconsciously toned down the intensity at which i was playing at the next game. somehow during the course of the match i ended up staying at the back doing the defending. i think playing in such a small area where the emphasis for speed and skill is higher doesn't really suit my style so i shall take a mental note here to just stick to defending for this sort of games.

oh and as thom and i found out at the end of the whole thing, even if we won the tournament, we weren't eligible to receive the prizes as we weren't from that church. at first we felt sort of ripped, as kristian baited both of us with the prizes, but on second thoughts, screw the prizes, play, sweat, have some fun can already. and it doesn't hurt we both got a nice shirt as a souvenir.

all in all, the future's bright and rosie, if i know what to do, and do it right.
