today is some interesting day.

yinrong zhujie and i were on the train towards marina bay. we were going to dhoby ghaut to play pool. we were in between braddell and toa payoh when someone pressed the $5000 red emergency button. that's where the fun begins.

suddenly the train slowed down at a deeeeeeeeecreasing retardation, meaning it was abrupt. i, who wasn't holding onto anything, was suddenly holding onto two poles on my sides for dear life. some young 20ish guy fell and leaned on my outstretched hand, having slided for about 1m. when the train finally stopped, you could see that everyone was dazzled and offering apologies.

that's when the driver made an announcement. "the person who pressed the emergency button, how can i help you?" the three of us were not expecting to be in the heat of things, so when someone not far from us mouthed into the mouthpiece "i need help at the next station" that we got another shock.

apparently, from what we saw, someone who was sitting down was looking pale and sickly. like he was going to faint. some member of the public went to him and helped massage his head and hand to make him feel better. when the driver replied through the pa systen "help will be given at the next station" so we went on to the next station. on the way 2 smrt staff appeared out of nowhere to see what's going on.

upon arriving at toa payoh, 6 smrt staff rushed into train at different doors into our carriage, all looking for the man. he was out within 10 secs. efficient. someone came and restart the red button system b4 we went on.

now my readers, i would like to draw your attention to a particular moment in the incident. when the member of the public pressed the red button, the driver stopped the train. keep that in mind, and let me help u recall something related.

if u people ever take the mrt, you might recall watching the video on civic responsibility, aka a-woman-who-was-a-member-of-the-public-pressed-the-red-button-when-she-saw-someone-from-ite-leave-a-bag-under-his-chair-b4-zaoing that they show on the tv screens at the mrt station. now when she pressed the button, the train did not stop and the driver did not respond to her over the pa system when everyone could hear but rather throught the mouthpiece.

now, what if that man was not reporting someone fainting but rather someone looking suspicious who is going to leave a black bag? so the man presses the button, the train stops, everyone is on alert, INCLUDING the "bomber", and the driver asks the person who pressed the button over the pa system how he can help him, and the man replies for the whole cabin to hear" i see a man in front of me carrying a black bag looking very suspicious." some joke that will be. what do you think the "bomber" will do?

in short, mrt is some joke 0_o
