i had a fun day today, going to pulau ubin to cycle with my family and relatives instead of just settling for plain boring East Coast Park. had a great time, as ubin had slopes, both ups and downs, and dirt trail to cycle on, which just adds to the challenge and thrill. as i made my way around the island, i could not help but recall my days in obs with 3K. indeed, some places which we trekked through were revisited today by me. i get this sense of nostalgia when i pass by a familiar place. like this part of the coast facing pulau hitam, with lots of gravel on the road, where i remembered yiwei first mentioned his intention to shit. or mamam beach, on the otherside of ubin, facing johor, where we passed by using our bulky and slow row boats. perhaps it was also fated that when we first reached there, the sun was scorching and i even got a sunburn, and towards the late afternoon, it rained on and off continuously and i had to cycle in the rain, ala trekking with a heavy backpack, a plastic poncho and 2 water bottles in tow. i remember that shanzhi then had to help spencer carry his backpack, as spencer's foot finally gave way to the enormous load it had to carry that was spencer. perfect timing, but lets not remember the bad things shall we, which includes discovering how sagar was a selective vegetarian. then we did not echo these sentiments out loud but these days we just blast it in his face.

i'm thinking, how about a class excursion to pulau ubin to relive these memories. we could retrace our steps while trekking and swap memories on the way. that would be a great way to bond and share our happy times, even though it may not seem so at that time, but generally we agree that obs was very fun, albeit challenging but that's where the kick is.

alternatively, we can just all sign up for the 21 days course and literally relive obs.
